Living life in all its fullness means reaching out beyond our normal boundaries and making a difference that matters. We have built key relationships in Vanuatu which have opened doors in many communities.
The Library Project – Vanuatu
The majority of ni-Vanuatu schools have very limited reading and learning books – usually just a small pile of ‘readers’. We have started to establish school libraries in partnership with school communities. The ni-Vanuatu villagers build the library out of natural and readily available materials, while we collect, sort and supply the books. In conjunction with local schools and community groups in Australia, we have been able to place substantial libraries in many schools, giving children in these villages their first real access to books. The village communities are overwhelmed with gratitude, but the most heartening aspect of this project is the improved marks students achieve.

Kindy Project
Ni-Vanuatu Kindergartens receive no funding, and therefore are very poorly resourced. Many of the teaching aids are sourced from naturally available materials, for example a half coconut shell can be used as a scoop for sand or water play. However, educational equipment from puzzles, books and shape sorters to toy cars and slides are not available. As part of our mission to NiVanuatu villages we supply resources and training to school kindies.
Would you like to help?
We are always grateful to receive donations of good quality reading and reference books, especially for young readers. Donations of Kindy toys that are not worn or broken help us to give a wide variety of items for the education upliftment of the youngest generation. You could even apply to be part of the next mission team and witness the response of overwhelmed communities.
